Rix releases Maria “6Sonya” Istrate from VALORANT Lightning roster

Rix, an inclusive UK and European focused esports organisation, announces Maria “6sonya” Istrate has been released from their contract, effective immediately.

Rix would like to thank 6sonya for her hard work, dedication and for helping the team take 2nd at VCT 2021: Game Changers EMEA Series 1, and 7th-8th at all subsequent VCT Game Changers.

We admire and want to thank you for everything you’ve done to increase the participation of women in esports. We wish you luck in your future endeavours and will see you on the server!

Zack Chandler, Head of Esports, said: “It’s been a genuine pleasure to work with Maria in her time at Rix. She was an integral part to our focus on inclusion and enabling a better environment for the female and marginalised gender Valorant scene. I wish you the best of luck with your next journey.”

Nicole Sølvmose, Team Manager, said: “I feel incredibly proud to have been Maria’s Manager and having the opportunity to work with her on the team. Maria is a very kind and compassionate person which shines through her being both in the team and outside of it. She’s always aiming to make sure everyone around her feels good and taken care of, which is merely one of her strong characteristics that makes her a strong team player. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but you will not regret picking her up on your roster. I can’t wait to see where Maria will take her career.”

Esports is for everyone.
